How to Prevent Enamel Loss
To prevent enamel loss, dental experts recommend changing your daily diet, especially if you are into drinking acidic, alcoholic, and carbonated beverages. Limiting the consumption of sugary foods is also beneficial as most types of mouth bacteria feed on sugar. You should also minimize exposure to excessively chlorinated water such as swimming pool water.
You should realize that there’s no natural way of restoring lost tooth enamel. Hence, it’s advisable to implement preventive practices like keeping a healthy diet and avoiding beverages that have detrimental effects on the enamel. Consider using a straw when drinking carbonated or acidic drinks.
You can also rinse your mouth with water after consuming such drinks. Don’t forget to brush your teeth with fluoride toothpaste at least twice a day.
